Why do SPC floors usually not contain formaldehyde
**Materials and Manufacturing Process**: SPC flooring is primarily made from materials such as stone powder (calcium carbonate) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, which are combined and molded under high temperature and pressure. The production process involves heat melting and pressing, eliminating the need for formaldehyde-based adhesives commonly used in traditional wood flooring manufacturing. This ensures that no formaldehyde is introduced into the product from the outset.
**Test Results Confirm Safety**: Third-party tests have shown that mainstream SPC flooring products on the market emit no detectable amounts of formaldehyde. Their environmental performance is superior to that of many traditional composite floors.
**Tips for Purchasing**:
- **Check Test Reports**: When purchasing, ask the seller for a formaldehyde emission report generated using the 1-cubic-meter climate chamber testing method. Ensure the report indicates compliance with E0 or ENF standards.
- **Beware of Low-Quality Products**: Some products made from recycled PVC or inferior additives may emit unpleasant odors or show signs of rapid deterioration. Avoid such products when shopping.
